Like many of us, Charef Tajar’s Casablanca had in place all the necessary ingredients for a breakout summer heading into 2020. Fresh off being selected as a finalist for the LVMH Prize, the Parisian brand has accrued a mouth-watering lineup of celebrity endorsements and burgeoning mass appeal.
As the story goes, the summer of 2020 pivoted to being more of an abstract idea than a literal sensation, a reality the brand’s then-new collection was still able to navigate, but a sense of wanting for proper times to enjoy the garments couldn’t help but emerge. For Spring/Summer ‘21, Casablanca tells the story of rainy skies making way for a rainbow in one of their strongest collections to date.
The brand’s bread and butter summer clothes are doused in a Hawaiian influence while remaining grounded in the Mediterranean silhouettes familiar to Casablanca’s roots. This season’s eye-catching prints feature Pacific landscapes featuring the Hawaiian goddess of the sea and other imagery from the Aloha state. Outerwear options include a British-style quilted jacket, reimagined Safari coat and sleek souvenir jacket that pairs perfectly alongside signature silk shirt offerings.
